My streaming service (Qobuz) is to upgrade it’s service from CD quality to HiRes on Sonos S2 products.
It’s CD quality sounds excellent anyway.
Will I notice the difference on my Sonos ones. Probably not.
I will keep you informed.

No. Sonos can’t currently play anything higher than 48khz flac (lossless CD quality) so it will downsample anything at higher quality to that regardless.

A pedant writes: 48kHz 16 bit is (very slightly) better than CD quality – it’s actually DAT quality.
Leaving that aside – the change from 44.1k/48k lossless to higher sampling rates, or from 16 bits (CD) to 24 bits (HiRes) is pretty subtle. Much more subtle than the difference between mp3 and lossless.
It’s not always obvious with the best of speakers/environments/mastering/material. I doubt Sonus S2 products are that revealing. It’s a bit like watching a film on a phone screen, can you tell the difference between a DVD and a 2k BluRay? Probably not. On a cinema screen – easy.

Well Qobuz isn’t available in Oz, so all academic as far as I’m concerned.

Any attempt to better sound quality is a step forward in my book.
The uplift from lossy to cd quality was a huge improvement on the Sonos sound.
However, I must agree with fentonsteve that the change from 16 bit to 24 bit will probably not be noticeable on tiny Sonos one speakers.
I have these in my kitchen, dining room and bedroom.
The Sonos/ Qobuz announcement was only yesterday I think, so I haven’t really had time to assess differences ( if any ) yet.
