Among the subjects under discussion, including the Scottish Munro’s, films of the Pixar Studios and the life and works of Adam Smith, is the ‘members’ and music of Steely Dan.
Now, I’ve never seen Adam Smith live, but like many on here I know a thing or two about Don and Walt’s baby. So, why not give it shot and post your score back here?
Tomorrow early evening, Beeb 2.
Black Celebration says
Hopefully it’ll be on YouTube. Do they mean The Members as in Nicky Tesco and pals?

Some smartarse is going to point out the Scottish Munro’s should have been bigger than the Dan ever were but were dropped by their label in 1975 and we are all ignorant philistines for never having heard of them.

I was going to point out Munros doesn’t have an apostrophe, but I thought better of it.

I’m glad you didn’t mention it as it appears to be a spellcheck default.
However, it’s reassuring to know that on The Afterword you are never more than six feet (6 Mbs?) from a pednat.

9/10 for me. I didn’t know what subject Donald Fagen was studying at Bard College when he and Walter Becker met.
Tiggerlion says
I bet you could have made a good guess.

8/10 for me.
Hey, Steely Dan man went on to win the heat and goes into the semi finals.
Now, those you who watched this epic adventure, does our man look like the typical Afterworder? I think not as I sit here ruffling my full head of hair, rejecting the very thought of male makeup, need for Viagra, pruning shears, etc, etc,
How about you?

A measly 7 for me. I need too much time to think to do well on that show.
Whilst Scouse Dan Fan won (largely because he had better general knowledge round than the others) the star of the show was the frankly rather odd Scottish Munros , er, lady – who despite some impressively obscure geographic knowledge still succeeded in looking like part of a Little Britain sketch.
Anyone else grit their teeth at John Humphrys’ pronunciation of Dan’s 1977 album as “A-Jar”, or wonder for a moment who the hell “Gar-ree Cats” was?
Arthur Cowslip says
“I need too much time to think to do well on that show” – yes, that’s me too! My head is a relatively large hard drive full of information, but it runs slowly and needs time to warm up.

My son likes Adam Smith because AS hated landlords.
I may need to get the episode on Youtube for him.

8 for me on Steely Dan, but 9 on the Undertones on the latest Mastermind.
Chris says
We went to see Stanley Dee the following Thursday, and they punctuated their set with a question from the Mastermind show between each song.
