Wow, correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that’s the first pop song to use the term dumb-cluck. I wouldn’t have put money on it first appearing in a Pet Shop Boys song though! I do wish that editors would ban the use of ‘arch’, ‘ironic’, ‘sly’ and the other words that articles about the Pet Shop Boys are always peppered with. There’s nothing sly about the Trump reference. It’s pretty clear.
Hopefully the B-side is about stupid MPs who are pressing on with doing something they know is absolutely wrong for their constituents because they are scared of what the constituents will do at the next election.
