In ‘A Very British Scandal’, his book about the Jeremy Thorpe/Norman Scott trial, John Preston quotes a member of the House of Lords who guided legislation to legalise gay male sex through parliament. His other passion was badger conservation, to the extent that he and his household wore gumboots at home to protect themselves from nips from the badgers which had free run of the house. He was asked why his efforts to decriminalise homosexuality were so much more successful than those to protect badgers. ‘Probably’, he replied, ‘because there are so few badgers in the House of Lords’.
I made a similar observation on the Super Deluxe Edition website a few months ago – Bananarama reissue, 120 posts, Ian Hunter complete works box-set, 5 posts…
This is not the whole internet. I would probably feel more at ease talking about pies on the AW than I would IWD. Obviously a lot of other people feel the same way.
I can see how that could be inferred but no,nothing as creative as that. I was just lol at Bungliemut’s comment and added the explosion thingy as a “Ka-pow!”

The IWD post came rather late in the day, whereas we’ve still got half a week left of pie-related activity.

Pie-related activity… oh dear…
Jeff says
Moose, if that’s an apple pie you’ve got there, please don’t bring it over to the Pie thread.

But…. my home-made custard!
Jeff says
No way – it’s full of lumps and it looks like it’s separated. Whisk it longer and faster next time.

I have much more experience of pies than international women. I have led a very sheltered, but pastry filled life.

I am an international woman, but I am one during 365 days of the year, strangely… 😉
