I think I’ve seen most of those, well the ones that interest me. Others are the one on Coltrane on Netflix, which is excellent, then there are some of the Classic Album series on Youtube like the Aja one where the boys and other musicicans let in a little light on this masterpiece.
One of the greatest moments in music docs is when Jeff Tweedy fires Jay Bennett in the Wilco one. Unfortunately there was a very sad ending for Bennett.
“From Hull to Heatongrad” is a cracking doc…
Excellent thanks Hombre. The Hired Gun one is very good. There’s a good one about Rush on Netflix – I’m not that bothered about the band but it’s a good story well told and they come across as really good blokes.
Similarly, there’s this from Paste: 50 Best Movies on Amazon Prime Right Now.
Although to be taken with a pinch of salt: this is the same Paste which published “The 20 Best Strokes Songs” last week. Twenty?

And no mention of the black-as-pitch comedy Death of Stalin. Which is brilliant. Jason Isaacs’ Zhukov is a particular favourite.
Best film of 2019 by a country mile.
Thanks for that. It reminded me that I haven’t yet got round to watching The Man from Mo’Wax. Typically, it’s not on the Amazon Prime that I pay for, so I’ll need to pay extra, but that seems to be the case every time I see something on there that I want to watch.
I watched Lemmy (included in this last a night or two ago) and found it just as interesting second time around. He was an intelligent, courteous man who seemed to be adored by fans and music peers alike, but with such a deep melancholy air.
Those fruit machines, eh?
