I felt a little sceptical clicking this on YouTube. But I ended up blubbing.
No gimmicks. Just a hugely moving and uplifting version of a wonderful song.

Thank you for posting that, we both had lumps in our throats.
Wonderful.
Marvelous. Far more moving than all those celebrity soundbites. A group of ordinary people singing their hearts out. That went straight on my FB page. Thanks.
Bravo! A wonderful collective event.
Keep getting something in my eye at the moment…
It’s not too out of place to ask if they did the b-side?
I mean, this being the Afterword web-site.
Pfft! They didn’t even do the Kenny Everett version. π
Goosebumps at the opening,oohs.
Lovely
Bowie’s death was front page news in Australia and I saw a rundown of them and this is the one that impressed me. I guess whoever wrote it was a fan.

Brilliant! not what you’d expect from our local Murdoch rag…
You want the B side, Deramdaze?
Here it is!
A big up to Choir! Choir! Choir! for these. A very fitting tribute from a group of ordinary people. I’d rather listen to this than some supergroup.
I have a friend in Canada who wanted to get a ticket to be part of this. They sold out in 5 minutes. A lot of love for Bowie over in Ontario.
Beautiful. I’m still feeling emotional, more than a week later. I had no idea I’d feel like this.
I’ve just re watched this interview, from 1999. What a visionary Bowie was. Paxman can’t even keep up with his ideas – which turned out to be spot on. Natch

Talking of interviews. Well worth watching is the 1975 satellite-link encounter between Bowie and Russell Harty [NOT the 1973 LWT one]. Harty is being a totally arch dick, as he often was, and our hero is having none of it. Although he’s in YA skeletal robot mode, he’s so cool in the way he puts Harty down by way of a simple refusal to engage with ridiculously mannered probings.
Piggybanking. Sorry.
Man that drummer is clueless during the verses especially. The most important part of the song. You can tell they are both just fuming but keeping it together.
