We are back back back baby. New Year and a new (well the second) Afterword CD swap is go. We need you to sign up now. We hope you enjoyed the summer’s debut run out, now it’s time for that difficult second swap. You may have noticed its been a bit chilly, well here in the UK. For our Southern Hemisphere brethren its all passing out out on centre court in 40 degree heat. Anyways, the theme of the second CD swap is that its cold. You can respond to the theme in any way you like: lyrics, artists, titles.
The CD swap is once more by your hosts @kid-dynamite and @moseleymoles. If you didn’t get your full quota of swaps last time let us know in a DM, and we will put you in a group with two (hopefully) reliable sorts.
We’ve tried to keep the rules to a minimum to make taking part as easy as possible. For those who’ve never done one before, a CD swap involves you making a compilation, posting it to a couple of other people, who post you theirs. How it all works is in the comments. All we need now is for you to sign up.
1 Sign up by the closing date by just letting us know in the comments to this post. Sign up for CD swap two: it’s cold, closes at the end of January.
2 We will then pair everyone up with two other people – you compile a CD (more later) and post it to two others. So post two out, get two back. You swap your addresses via DMs so no-one except your pairs need know you live at 10 Downing Street @philipmaybot.
3 Your CD: one CD only. 12 tracks only. Theme: it’s cold. Please rip your files without track or artist names so your partners can listen without prejudice. Artwork is up to you. MP3 tag is a free PC programme that allows you to strip all the artwork and info from your MP3 file.
4 DM us your track listing. DON’T POST IT ON THE SITE.
5 CDs to get to your partners in the mail by the end of February ( we will give you a gentle reminder on the blog).
6 You can then let the world know what you thought of the CDs you received in a megapost. Posting of reviews by mid-March.
7 We will post track listings at the end of March and watch the recriminations/accolades fly.
I’m in.
Ron Cucumber? One of the Mekong Cucumbers? Or the Canadian branch?
I feel mean now, history shows you put yourself up last time. Pull up a chair and tell us about yourself.
If he’s covered in polythene, he’s British.
I’m in.
Include me in please. I really enjoyed the last one.
Count me in
Me four
Moi, aussi
I was shy last time…I’m in if you’ll have me!
I think my wallet can withstand another educational emptying
(Translation: I’m in)
I shall invest in CD burner just to join in.
And mailings will be to the US if that is acceptable.
I’m sure posting to the US will be fine, Drew, but just to say that if anyone doesn’t want to do that for any reason, send me a message and I’ll take it into account when working out the matchings.
Yes please, count me in
More stuff I can’t abide! More stuff I can’t believe I missed ‘cos it’s brilliant! More expenditure, more shelving! More gnashing of teeth and hang wringing over hitherto unexplored back catalogues! More fun compiling favourites and hidden gems with a vague association with the theme! More hilarity and head shaking at other Afterworder’s unexpectedly draperish lugs!
I’m in.

Happy to post worldwide (and elsewhere)
Ok, I’ll dip in to this.
I didn’t try it out first time around, but I’ll give it a go.
I’m in. Again.
I’ll have another go (hoping to actually get some CDs this time around!) Put me in a “reliable” group, please (with people who don’t mind artists possibly singing in Swedish a lot… 🙂 )
Actually, having done a quick search on possible contenders fitting with the theme, there may not be that many tracks in Swedish after all…as it turns out, Swedes prefer singing about summertime, sun and holidays. Hmmm, wonder why… 😀
Don’t Swedes prefer singing about booze? That is what I would have expected.
In case nobody else volunteers, I’m happy to listen to singing in Swedish. Or Icelandic. Or mock Swedish. Or mock Icelandic.
(right that’s 4 tracks that suggest themselves to me…)
Couldn’t do this last time as my computer had packed in, count me in!
Excellent, well played chaps.
Count me in again please.
yep
Me : Not again – the last one cost me too much and, quite frankly, wasn’t worth it
Little devil on shoulder : True but you wouldn’t have heard those tracks elsewhere and you did enjoy them.
Me : Yeah but – oh sod it I’ll give it another go. I’m definitely in !!!
and count me in again too, please
What a splendidly delightful notion. Needless to day, I am ‘in’.
Oh go on then….I’m in.
I am in.
I will try to behave this time.
At least, I am not on a ludite’s island the months to come.
In the interest of constructive comments, and a positive experience for all involved, may I urge you to follow through on the promise of feedback this time. 😉
I’m back, back, BACK! Yes, totally in, thanks to our gracious hosts for doing the honours once again – looking forward to it!
Ok. I’ll give it another shot.
A bump for this as the sign up deadline is almost upon us
(Puff puff pant…. Arthur comes stumbling in the door out of breath…..)
I haven’t missed the deadline have I?
Sign me up!
