The RT Facebook page brings news of a new Richard Thompson documentary and a screening, followed by a Q&A with the director and Richard, at The Picurehouse in London’s glidering west end this Thursday. I can’t really justify the trip and the ticket price for a short film and some chat, but there are plenty of others here who might want a heads up. Details in the link.
Following on from ChrisF’s post at new year regarding the RT acoustic sessions (http://theafterword.co.uk/richard-thompson-acoustic-vol-2/) there’s a small selection of RT acoustic tracks available on Noisetrade for a free taster.

For a very British take on the Tiny Desk Concerts rightly celebrated by @pajp below you could do worse than to try the Black Cab Sessions – all your favourite musos have one take to play a song recorded in the back of a black cab. This one with RT, Judith Owen and Debra Donkin playing a mournful medieval carol while crammed into the back of a cab with a guitar, a large drum and a cameraman, is favourite of mine, but there are dozens of them in the link.
the latest episode of the WTF podcast features not only Saint Richard of Thompson, but also Lemmy. Also coming up in the next week or two apparently, an hour with Keef. Can’t wait.
