My favourite podcast – very rarely fails to enlighten and entertain. I have got something from every episode, even if the subject wasn’t someone I would normally gravitate towards (The Lopez’s, of Frozen fame, were a great listen, for instance.)
I have a particular love for the ‘old-uns’, like Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, Lamont Dozier, Jeff Barry, Chip Taylor, Allen Toussaint, Don Black and Jimmy Webb – the real crafters.
I was so looking forward to this Jason Isbell episode that I deliberately avoided listening to it until my ‘first morning back from hols’ commute, today. It is already one of my faves.
What a lovely bloke? And how hard does he think, and care about what he does? It’s a terrific listen and the hour whizzed by faster than the traffic hammering past me on the M40, north.

There are many that are brilliant and interesting listens. Not always who you think as well. The Dan Wilson one was really good.

The Johnny Marr one was particularly good.
