Here’s the line-up doing the tour (from a previous appearance at the bar in the clip above) – Chris, Jan and Gerry…
Amazingly, my friends (and Chris Todd’s) Wookalily – all-girl folk-gothic/bluegrass-ish sensations – are touring England at EXACTLY the same time as the Hardchargers. I’ll post their dates here soon.

Nowhere near me unfortunately.

I’ve no idea where most of those towns are, Chester excepted!

Intrigued to know what Albert’s Shed, in Shrewsbury, is like.
All these locations appear to be decidedly Northern or South Western of my particular area.
Shaftesbury (July 31st) to Shrewsbury (August 1st) looks to be a fun drive..
They may need that day off before they hit Chester.

I had spotted the Wookalily dates, seriously believing up until that point that they were imaginary, dreamed up under the fevered brow of a youthful (for AW) Norn Irishman who believes, simultaneously, he is living in a 50’s Soho jazz dive and on the road with the first wave of stadium jazz-rockers, John McLintock’s Bangalore Odyssey.
Having you tubed they seem a bit more fun than I might have thought, an acoustic Katzenjammer with dirtier minds.

Well, you’re the tankard-on-belt folk buff around here, Retro, so I suppose if you’re not interested in the Wookaladies no one here will be! There’s almost nothing (deliberately) of the songs from their (due October) second album on YouTube at present, but here’s recent TV spot for a first-album track.
The first album was generally bright and quirky; the second is generally spooky and winsome.

Lonesome Chris & the boys are motoring through England towards Bideford as I type. Either that or they’ve broken down by the roadside…
Here he is at a solo show in deepest NI on Tuesday past, with Bukka White’s ‘Shake ‘Em On Down’:

That thing about Doctor Foster going to Gloucester in a shower of rain… Here’s Lonesome Chris and the boys in a downpour at Gloucester Blues Festival last week. Blistering! Damp!
