I was worried we’d lost her to Hollywood but the pint sized funk Goddess is back and she’s only gone and made the best Prince song since the Purple fellas prime.
Apologies to all the older readers with an aversion to ‘new’ music.

Don’t forget the other one:
Can’t believe we have to wait until late April for the album!

Or the other other one – Givin Them What They Love

That’s from the Electric Lady though.
I meant “the other one” as in the other brand new track.

Not me. I love a bit of the ‘Nellster. My expectations of new product are unusually high.
You can drop the needle anywhere on her Metropolis albums and find splendidness and fearless ambition.
This would even appeal to a few AWers once they got past the “Oh dear, a young(ish) black woman!” barrier.

Marvellous.
I like “Make Me Feel” a lot. I like “Django Jane” even more.
I was wondering a little while back what was going on with her and when some new music would appear. At the time I couldn’t fault her “Archandroid” album other than it was a bit too long. All the material was at least good and at best amazing, but there was just so much of it, it was like an onslaught. Really, it would have suited me better if her previous EP to that had had been a full-length album and Archandroid a bit shorter, with no material sacrificed. I suppose it’s difficult to hold back if you have so many ideas pouring out of you.
Her Glasto set from 2011 was one of the most amazing things I’ve seen so far in this decade. A proper non-stop all-action show.

Oh yikes. I don’t think these are very good.
Loved the Archandroid, so hope the album is better.

In the words of the lady herself, I like that! I wasn’t quite getting the same tingle as everyone else from the initial tracks but now I’m fully revved up and expect to blasting JM for the summer..

I’m a big fan of Janelle. Saw here do a quite sensational gig at Roskilde a couple of years back.
That Pynk video is something else and it’s a damn catchy song too.
Mark my words, we’ll all be wearing vagina-pants by the end of the summer!
