@ganglesprocket Love Machine by Wham
Crops up on their ‘Fantastic’ debut that I still have in the garage. Ripped it to the PC along with all the vinyl I got as a kid when I got my Ion USB record player about seven Xmas’s back.
Overly ambitious bit of filler but a half decent attempt and did (along with The Jam) lead me to the golden path of Motown/Soul originals.
Hearing George sing this now with my far more cynical and aged years is a surreal experience!
SteveT says

I don’t currently have an mp3 player, so instead I rifled through Mr. B’s trouser pockets and the first 5 things out were:
1. A frankly indescribable handkerchief.
2. A Euro.
3. A tiny piece of foil from a blister pack, with the “oflu” part of the word “Bendroflumethiazide” visible.
4. Half of a brown leather watch strap (?).
5. The beginnings of a hole.
Illuminating stuff, I think you’ll find. I’m off to bleach my hands.
Tiggerlion says
Why is your husband on diuretics? To disguise the illegal performance enhancing drugs?
minibreakfast says
Ha! No, it’s for high b.p.
Tiggerlion says
High bestial performance?
Sewer Robot says
How did you get the hole out? This could be an extraordinary breakthrough for humankind. You could become our second AW billionaire!
Rigid Digit says
second?
Sewer Robot says
Sorry Rigid. Are you a billionaire too. Would you like to sign my petition to downsize the “notice board” feature on the front page to make space for a virtual helipad?
Rigid Digit says
Sadly not a billionaire.
Not even a thousand-aire
(this is a Liquid Assets assessment, not a Fixed or Long Term Assets consideration).
Virtual Helipad?
Good idea – and how about an additional Menu Option: Buy & Sell Lear Jets.
Maybe we could have threads segregated by a small piece of rope. One side: “Considerably richer than yow”, the other side simply says “Scum!”
Moose the Mooche says
Hmmm.
Mins, I think there may be a hole in the pocket of the trousers I am currently wearing.
Would you mind checking?
minibreakfast says
Did you fall through it into another dimension? Is that where you’ve been?
Moose the Mooche says
Ow! Those bloody nails!
Dave Ross says
At the gym this afternoon my ipod gave me 5 in a row so perfect that I could never have chosen them, it is staggering how many times from a selection of songs that I put on there (only 4000 so not many by AW standards) that I am still caught by surprise by its selection…
