The locks are kept long to keep me warm as I work outside, but spring has finally sprung here on Vancouver Island and it’s time for a new “do”. In keeping with the dame’s age at the time and mine now I’m opting for the 2002 version.

You live on Vancouver Island – my idea of heaven!!

I’m more envious of Bri for having enough hair to choose what to do with it.
bobness says
I think I’m inordinately jealous of both…
bricameron says
It’s a paradise.
deramdaze says
Just make sure you don’t get a mustard suit like the one Mojo pictured him in c. 1974.
Surely the worst look by any pop star ever?
bricameron says
He looked kinda homeless in that one eh?
Wilson Wilson says
What a coincidence, I’m currently sporting an ‘Eno’. (not entirely through choice.)
Moose the Mooche says
I actually had something of a quiff yesterday, partly by accident. Rock and roll is here to stay, it will never die.
minibreakfast says
Partly by accident? Was it due to a “There’s Something About Mary” incident?
Moose the Mooche says
Look here, I’m a married man. All my “hair gel” is spoken for.
Billybob Dylan says
“Accidental Quiff.” Is that Morrissey’s new album?
hubert rawlinson says
Had three inches [of hair] cut off recently for a job interview. Didn’t get the job very pppdd off.
Moose the Mooche says
So now your hair is only 22 inches long?? You sold out, maaaan!

I’ve been growing my fringe and – I’m proud to say – it now reaches my eyeballs in the shower. All a bit bloody wavy though. Is there a vaguely long-haired style that looks good on a man still clutching on to his 40s for dear life? Cos I certainly haven’t found it yet.
Gary says
Hats are where it’s at. I love em. If I ever go bald no one’ll notice cos I wear hats so often. Just bought a new one today in honour of Saint Pad’s. I’ll see if I can post it.
Gary says
Can’t upload to photobucket. Stoopid site.
attackdog says
Fear not, and don’t worry yourself with a ridiculous elongated fringe.
I saw in a market the other day a beanie (popular skull coverer) fashioned with built in quiff protruding sufficiently to suggest the luxurious mane just out of sight.
Bartleby says
That’s clearly what we all need. Can you wear them in bed too?
@Gary I’ve recently made the painful transition to Imgur from the bug-laden Photobucket (we love change don’t we!). It just about does the job and once you get used to it, is much easier to use.
Gary says
Imgur it is. Here’s me in my new hat, lookit. Yes, I know!
Bartleby says
Garden might need a bit of mowing G
Moose the Mooche says
Look out for that triffid, young feller!

I’ve had one of those hats for about 4-5 years now. I was trying to Google the name – pageboy, bakers boy, news boy, Gatsby – it’s a great winter hat – not an issue in sunny Italy, I’d imagine. For those of us with big heads (I’m so great), it’s a real blessing as it seems to shrink the assistance of the cranium a bit.
In the summer I switch to a short brim Cuban – which does a similar job, and makes me feel a little bit ‘Dominion’

attackdog says
Yes. You can wear a beanie in bed.
I suggest you should not share your bed whilst wearing said beanie.
Unless the person with whom you share you bed is also beanified.
Moose the Mooche says
Er, what does it tell us about the demographic of the AW that a thread about hairstyles has very quickly become a discussion about… er… hats.
It reminds me of that time I started a thread about my ripped bod, only for the discussion to descend into various descriptions of monk’s robes, spacesuits and medieval armour.
attackdog says
Of course ye olde ancient chained metal beanie was fashioned of, well, metal.
Metal heads. How very Afterword.
Of course there was an olde variety woven with fish-hooks. These should not be worn in bed. Oh no.
They also have a regrettable tendency to fall off your Barnet and scratch your relies.

Relies? I’ve actually no recollection of what I intended to post.
But take care of your relies (?!) all the same
bricameron says
Should I bother with a before and after?
