Over at the superdeluxeedition.com site they have announced a 17 cd box set for the 80’s band Dead or Alive.
Since Dead or Alive only ever released 7 studio albums how on earth do they arrive at a 17 box set?
More importantly who on earth will buy it?
It seems the world has gone bonkers.

Not seventeen discs. Nineteen! I can name one song. It’s a belter, though.
Is disc 19 the sound of a barrel being scraped?
I notice it includes the Greatest Hit [sic] album expanded to 2 CDs. Sky obscured by hats, I’m sure.
“How to get a quart into a great big fuck-off barrel.” Fixed that for you! 😉
This is one disc more than the Dylan box from last year that concentrated on an epic period of his career.
I’m spinning round with this news.
(Actually I have a greatest hits with at least 3 or 4 versions of the hit, and that is a single CD. Still a favourite song, tho’)
One imagines even Pete Burns might say “Hmmm, might be a bit much” to this, but as they say, “there’s a lid for every pot”…
What’s also quite funny is someone in the comments section at superdeluxeedition.com has actually spotted some missing mixes amongst the tracklisting…
I enjoy the comments threads on SDE. Did you read the one under the Nick Kamen article? Some meathead complaining that SDE should only concentrate on “serious” music like the Jam, Hendrix and Yes! 😀
I thought that superdeluxe etc was a joke.
Really looking forward to the 20 CD Lieutenant Pigeon in depth retrospective’ It is going to be a monster.
That would certainly cost a lot of mouldy old dough!
Yes, I am here all week, thanks for asking.
Oooh hee Chirpy chirpy cheep cheep.
