I kind of assumed he meant “with headphones” which is actually pretty good advice. It’s now pretty much proven that headphones, even at low volumes, can have detrimental effect on your hearing if used for prolonged periods.
Having now read the article, it does make sense. It’s not “don’t listen to music” it’s dosn’t listen above 85dB which is fine at home or with noise cancelling headphones.
As someone who suffers from tinnitus and who is likely to need hearing aids in the near future, I am fullly in the “turn it down, wear eaplugs and linit exposure” camp.
Here ends today’s sensible lecture. On the bright side, I suspect the damage is done for most of us so let’s all carry on 🙂
