It’s All Hallows’ Eve, so if you’re planning to weigh-in, do it before you scoff the leftover chocs and sweets. Or before you punch a clown. You can let your fellow Chubby Checkers know how you’re doing in the comments.

EXERCISE – Did my charity swimathon last week, clocking up 400 lengths, which I’m really proud of. Four and a half hours of swimming (just jumping out for three loo breaks, because I was brung up properly). I paced myself well enough not to really suffer afterwards (even plyaed squash later!). Energy gels and drinks really did the trick in giving me a boost when needed. Then on Sunday I joined a friend and did my first 10k race (well, fun-run). I’ve not done one before, and the whole atmosphere was really friendly. I’m stupidly pleased with getting a cheap medal. And not getting lapped by the front-runners. Only just, though!
FOOD – Ate a bit more than usual with my rather over-active week.
DRINK – A well-earned pint after my swimming excesses.
SCALES – No loss this week. Total loss still 49lbs.
MISCELLANEOUS – I’ve got into a good mindset now that means when I weigh myself weekly, if I lose I lose, if I don’t, I don’t worry. I know I’m on getting slowly lighter and definitely getting fitter, and that’s fine with me.

Fantastic DG,I betit if that medal was solid gold you wouldn`t be any prouder. Not much on the exercise front from me, Marley(dog) has a haircut* today so it`s back to 2-2.5 hour daily walks.
*Marley is a cockerpoo, body of a spaniel & poodle`s coat so when we go for walks it has become increasingly harder to clean her up after going out for a trek, so it`s a skin `edd today.
Food, good all week then a granddaughter`s birthday party at the weekend and that chocolate fudge cake looked good and it was.
So weight loss, err, forgot what I was last week, I think it was 13st 5.5lbs so it`s a 0.75lb loss I`m now 13st 4.5lbs. If someone had told me I would be in the 12st range (hopefully) 6 months ago I would`nt have believe them. I f they had said that 4-5 years ago I would have thought they were raving loony bonkers! I remember seeing a picture I was in at a Liverpool Mingle** and my ale (& food) belly sticking out. I was a bit embarrassed but I wasn`t bothered, I was happy and so what.
Now my belly is almost flat and I`m eating*** much the same as before but it`s healthy home cooked food and I don`t miss all those biscuits, chocolate & beer*** which caused the large belly.
**Mingles – that mingle I referred to was the best attended I have ever been to, I remember meeting you DG and the London gang, Scandinavians, I spent a good hour explaining to them what `scouse` was, which they were eating and enjoying and lots of other reprobates including @stevet who was the exception!
***Lots of veg and fruit. Healthy recipes with the help of the lovely Baroness who has been extremely encouraging.

Please excuse the mistakes, I was fixing them but was interrupted by the dog grooming lady and when I returned it was timed-out.

Four and a half hours? Amazing!
Not much for me apart from my 5K “race”. I finished 133rd out of 203 in a personal best time of 34 mins and 42.91 Seconds (electronically timed). Beating my previous record by over a minute. Felt really good.
I had rested after squash earlier in the week to have energy for an early morning run in cold temperatures, kept pretty well to a low carb diet but put on 2 lbs! I am putting this down to volatility and measurement accuracy, but will move future weigh-ins to once a month I think.
Drank a fair bit and ate a few carbs after the run when meeting friends in Montreal. Back on the straight and narrow now, but I may steal a few bits of candy from my daughter tonight …
PS I got a medal too!

Excellent. Bet you were chuffed with a PB. I am really very happy about my naff medal – I’m already googling for other 5ks and 10ks in my general area, and only thinking about registering if they include a finisher’s medal!
The weight thing – really don’t worry about odd ups and downs. Weight fluctuates so much. Mine’s been a spiky downward trajectory.

I am 14st 6lb now which I think is 3lb less than when I crashed into the thread a couple of weeks ago.
Weight loss has slowed down, as i would expect, but still going in the right way. nearly at 1st lost.

Ooh, you’re close to a special rosette, Uncle. Good going.

3 runs this week, about 18k overall. So feeling good, working up to the 10k in mid-Nov.

Feeling good, and working to a target. That’s a sound way of going about things.
