Waterbeach?! I used to work in Waterbeach!
fentonsteve says
And so did I, at the same place (although a bit before you). We’ve had this conversation before…
Billybob Dylan says
We did? Sorry. I must be having another “senior moment.”
fentonsteve says
I was there from secondary school work experience (’85 or ’86) to end of my first year at uni. (I think I left about Easter ’92). I nearly went to work there again as a grown-up but chose Rio (the MP3 player people) instead – which, as usual, turned out to be the wrong call – they went bust 6 months later.
I didn’t go back for about 20 years, but someone who played a pub gig for me in Cambridge put me in touch with someone who put on gigs in Waterbeach. We’ve been doing them together for about 5 years.

There’s something delightfully withering about the stuff in brackets after those two acts’ names:
1. Internationally renowned singer/songwriter
2. Manchester-based band
😀
fentonsteve says
Ha! I see what you mean.
Not my poster design. Knowing the man who did design it, I wouldn’t be surprise to see other classic clichés like “sophomore effort”.
fentonsteve says
Only 14 tickets left as of 9am this morning.
Peanuts Molloy says
Any chance he will perform Liberty Horses @fentonsteve?
Brilliant song, written with Laurie Freelove, and hidden on a CD single which Boo signed for me once outside the Musician pub in Leicester.

I’ll ask the man. As far as I know, he’s never played it live but, as the gig isn’t until October, that leaves him 7 months to learn it.
Laurie Freelove passed away recently. RIP.
