In early March one of my muckers from on here, our mate, my brother and myself are off to Hamburg for a long weekend. I am looking for recommendations and where better to start than here. Specifically record shops but also quirky bars, cafes etc. We will restrict the record shopping to the saturday so could do with knowing the best record shops in a similar area rather than all in the city so we can maximise our time in them rather than schlepping round the whole city.
We are stopping close to the Reeperbahn area.
Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
Sorry to attach to your thread, but myself and some friends are going in April. Hoping to catch a band or some football, but otherwise we want seedy establishments to chill out in. Any advice would be appreciated.
My firm has a design office in Hamburg. I’ve never been but colleagues have. I’ll ask around.
I do know that huge model exhibition is there and is mighty impressive. Not musical but slightly nuts.
That smarmy ex-politician (I realise this doesn’t narrow things down much) was on his train last night on BBC 4. When I turned the telly on at just before 8pm, he was in Hamburg.
That reminds me, must talk to my colleagues about it.
If you want seedy, The Kaiserkeller has an incredible house band apparently.*
(*note to self: check this information is up-to-date)
“The museums of HafenCity are a must”, apparently.
