Those Dolly and Britney tracks were extraordinary. In Norway, Susánna (Wallumrod) and her Magical Orchestra achieved a similar effect without the help of any technology. Very good she is too.
When you get your first record player, the first thing you do is play about with the speed selector whilst playing records (or is that just me?).
By doing this, I discovered that the chorus to the Smurf Song is just a bunch of session singers going “La La La La La La La La La” and then the recording sped up.
If you’ve got the single version of Revolution by The Beatles, try playing it at 33rpm – it sounds great – intense, heavy guitar sound. I can’t find a Youtube clip, sadly, but here are a couple of sites where you can upload and play around with song speed and pitch :
Lovely Rita is a charming little ditty that enjoys huge benefits from the ‘psychedelic’ production on Sgt Pepper. They sped it up a little to give it a bit more pep. Here it is, in D.

I find this mesmerising and just a bit scary. Britney has never been better.

Don’t think it’s working try this.

One last try

They weren’t working earlier. Sorry everyone. I’m a bit of a technoprat sometimes!

Lovin’ Britney and the Magical Susanna!

The lovely Kate, slowed down by a considerable factor.
This “Wuthering Heights” is 35 minutes in length, but Kate’s vocals have been pitch-adjusted to sound like her ethereal self.
Wilson Wilson says
Justin Beiber 800% slower. Sounds like Sigur Ros.

What a strange and wonderful box of treasures you’ve opened here, Lode.
The sloth-speed Kate is seriously other-wordly.
Now I want to find the ultra-slow Ramones¨, with each track lasting half an hour,
Hey Ho! Let’s Go Very Slow!
Lodestone of Wrongness says
Who knew?
Kaisfatdad says
Thank you! That track just made my day. Who’d have thought it? The ambient, chill-out, relaxing sounds of the Slowmones.
Vulpes Vulpes says
Anyone got any Scientist or Joe Gibbs that’s been put through the Chipmunk mill?
Lodestone of Wrongness says
This is seriously scary
