“Ice Ice Baby” hitmaker Vanilla Ice is performing 9 shows at Alexandra Palace this Christmas – on ice! Tickets are from £20 to £35, and the gig will last a whopping 30 minutes.
With that amount of time to fill, I presume he will be playing all of his hit.
See you down the front!

Unbelievable indeed. Bet the site crashes in the demand for tickets.

When I read the heading of this post, I thought for a minute it might be about this; another one of those ‘you couldn’t make it up’ stories:
“Jeremy Corbyn called a press conference in London to announce that he’d secured the endorsement of Birmingham-born 1980s pop-reggae act UB40”

I wondered if Rob C had slipped something into my tea, but this does seem to be for real. My word, there are some brave/deluded gig promoters out there.

It may not be quite as crazy as it seems. The point is to remind people that they can go skating at Alexandra Palace rather than to boost Vanilla’s sagging career.
The Iceman is doing three shows a night and a 30 quid ticket includes skating. I presume that you can skate around the great man while he is performing.
It’s such a wacky idea that it may be a hit. Who is next in this frosty concert series? The Icicle Works? Miike Snow? Ice Cube?
